Dad,

How do you feel about works as they relate to your faith/Christianity?

XXXX

The pervasive problem with many versions of “Christianity” is the notion that Heaven is a reward for something they have done.

The formula is:  Person + Good deeds + Christ = Heaven.

The odd thing is, nothing in the scriptures support this much maligned, “I” centered view?

In my own life, I could have no more chosen Christ than I could have chosen the eye color of my daughter or the curls on her head.

Why believers choose to complicate matters and make faith such an unappealing lifestyle by adding to, is beyond me.

It’s not Christ +…simply Christ.
